This is the third and final plaque in the series. It features an old doorway with flaking blue paint, of the sort often seen on the Greek islands. The prototype in the photo is not finished as there is more painting and some weeds to be added.

The door will have a metal lantern to one side, which you will make yourself, then electrify, using a coin battery: a very useful skill for everyone to learn. The stone architrave, step, the paint flaking off the wall, these will all be achieved without the use of castings, using sheet materials of various sorts. New wood will be used for the door so that you can learn how to age it without taking the short cut of using weathered pieces.

There will be room for some additions of your own: plants or a cat curled up on the step, but the focus of this course will be the fine tuning of your ageing techniques on wood, plaster and metal.
