On this exciting course, originally offered in 2013, you will create a grand Venetian doorway that has settled into age and decay. The doors have coloured glass panels and an arched ogee doorframe cast from resin and are fronted by a rusting metal balcony that you will design and solder yourself.  Finally, the whole doorway will be set into a wall of rough stonework with falling plaster, and then aged with Paul’s weathering techniques.

The finished project will be a plaque of about six or seven inches by nine, and will be in 1/12th scale.  It can stand alone or be wall-hung, or incorporated into a larger scene. The intention is to teach you several new techniques, including metalworking with brass using small butane torches.  Paul’s superb modelmaking skills will ensure a result that you will be proud to display.

Please note: the flowers in the featured image were made by the student on one of Diane Gould’s courses.
